Thornley had completed Basarab’s strange commission and received his reward: initiation into The Unending, a secret society of immortal beings. But now, the vindictive Basarab seeks to revoke Thornley’s immortality—and erase all trace of his existence.

Through his previous journals, Thornley recounts his travels across Victorian-era Europe as he delves into the dark history of Lord Basarab, a 15th-century Romanian warlord shrouded in myth. His research includes intimate interviews with Basarab himself, as well as the lord’s enigmatic wife and devoted butler, conducted within their Kent estate and Belgravia mansion—each meeting drawing Thornley deeper into the daemon’s web.

Commissioned to write a gothic novel based loosely on Basarab’s former life, Thornley begins to suspect his work serves a more sinister purpose.

Lord Basarab is a gothic horror novella accompanied with an anthology of modern horror tales—where the line between fiction and reality grows ever thinner.
